Jack`s Old Fashion Hamburger in Oakland Park

I've been passing for a few years now, and I've always wanted to try it. Saw some people write the best burger they've ever had. Went tonight.If having a greasy soggy burger with no taste is your ideal best burger, I dont know what to tell you. A proper burger doesn't require sauce, the meat will be the flavor. All I tasted was the bun, the meat with no flavor, and the soggy greasy bun at the bottom. Definitely never coming back. Gave it a two because of the staff. That's it. 🚮

Great burger! I had original cheeseburger. It was super moist and flavorful. Just like mom would make at home.

I thought I would of been so much better. But all it reminds me is elementary school lunch. Where they put the burger in the microwave. You guys probably sandbag your burgers in case you get a rush, but you don't have to lay the burgers right on top of the bun. I called in my order 5 mins prior to me getting there. 2 mins it was up and ready, went to my car to eat it bun is completely soggy like a spong . 🤢 not worth my money. Should of gone to five guys of burgerfi. At least there burgers come rippon hot and not soggy.

We tried this place as we often pass and hear the milkshakes are great. I have to say that they were nothing special at all. It was similar to a large fast food chain.

Great value....great taste.....interior could do with updating....but clean and adequate.

No maskWent there today and the young blond girl would take her mask off most of the time. She would only put it on when customers would order. She was standing by the food in the window and talking and laughing with no mask. This needs to be reported.

It really was an old fashioned experience and I mean the good kind with excellent quality, fresh burgers and a great place to be with friends and family. The burgers were obviously not common frozen little slabs of tasteless cardboard. You add your own condiments whether you eat there or take it to go. You get a variety of choices to build your burger or hot dog exactly the way you want it. Our party loved it. The wood decor and soft lighting made it feel like a comfy cabin. It was very clean. We enjoyed the photos of old Fort Lauderdale throughout the dining area. Why not a 5-star rating? No vegetarian burger option. There are a few very rare times that I miss eating meat and this was one of them. It all looked and smelled so good. I did max out on the tasty fries, though, while everyone else raved about the burgers. We will definitely visit there again!

It's everything you expect for a place with the vintage magic this one has. Once you go you feel that you've been going your entire life. Hamburgers were amazing, milkshake, not so much, but wasn't bad either.

I guess it is nice to see a business succeed for so many years, but I think it is time for them to bring in some "change". It felt a little bit too old fashioned, I didn't see any young people in there......???!!!???

Even though I'm writing this review one month from when I ate over at Jack's Hamburgers I remember it was like it was yesterday oh man it was lunch time and we were hungry we ran over to Jack's Old Fashion hamburgers and we got ourselves a bite to eat it was delicious I enjoyed it not only did I enjoy it the most part I enjoyed the most was the variety of the dressings to put on your burger they had minced onions and barbecue sauce that just made the burger 10 times better I can ride about this all day but the only way you can truly enjoy is by going thanks Jack's Old Fashion hamburger

Jack's has the Best Burger! The staff was friendly and all our orders were right. Definitely a place I will frequent.

I was so excited to be there. Came all the way from Newport tn to get a burger. They did NOT disappoint.

Haha :) that should say it all. The cheese burgers are my favorite although everything is great You can have the meat cooked to well done if you want and in my case your fries well done too. I have been to both locations and they both have great staff and both locations food taste good.

Jack's is a small old-fashioned burger place that only has two locations but it is well worth a visit. The decor is older but always clean while the food is fresh and the burgers are nice and juicy. Each burger is cooked when ordered and never fails to satisfy your hunger. There are also hot dogs and a few other items on the limited menu. Don't forget to select some golden oldies on the jukebox that reminds you of days gone by.

My first time there. Excellent tasting hamburger. Obviously good quality meet and not outrageously expensive for a 1/2 pound burger.

This is a very old time Restaurant who knows how to do things right. We had a great meal.

Wow old school total. Order at counter. Small soda no refills. Medium/ Large yes. You have xtra $ add on’s ie: lettuce/tomato , which comes in a little sandwich zip lock baggie .40 cents. They do have a small like bar for your onions ,.peppers. napkins utensils. FF are nice size order. We went with two 1/2 lb cheese burgers very large . Cheese on bottom of bun, which is a nice soft bun. When you give your order they give you a number, they call out number at the other side. Big feee parking lot.

Delish hamburgers! Clean restaurant. Friendly staff . Alot of high school kids..seems like they enjoy working there 🙂

I've been eating here since I was a child. If you want a plain good old fashion cheese or hamburger, this is the place. It's nothing fancy, but always a treat.

Those are some huge moist easy to eat burgers... Now for the con.... After paying almost $8 for a burger with no fries or drink I shouldn't have to pay an extra $2 for a Ziploc bag with a slice of tomato and lettuce in it. A head of iceberg is $1? It was a good experience but I only like to be nickel and dimed by the government and my cellphone provider.

As close to Whataburger as I have found in SoFlo! Love the variety of unique sauces, too! Best burger for the price around!🌴✌️😎🌴

Great Burgers. Great milkshakes as well. The restaurant is clean. And customer service is fantastic. It can get very busy in there so you have to be patient at times. Parking can be a bit of a challenge especially on the weekends. They have a short but simple menu that is easy to follow. My fiance and I really enjoyed our time there and we highly recommend this place. Go try it you won't be disappointed.

Great service by these young kids, especially during early 2020 covid-19 epidemic. They have been trained very well for their food service positions.The food was FANTASTIC! Good ole fashioned and properly cooked to order Burger and fries! The milkshakes were yummy... Not too sweet, icy, runny, or way too thick. Just perfect! Our 1st time there and take out service standards and food quality surpassed expectations. The wife says this will be our primary future date night location 😉. Sometimes the most simple things are Best.

For what this place is, an older joint, I give it a 4 star. Not many places make a nice big plain hamburger like they do here. I'm not sure how an old fashion place should be, but it feels retro here

What can I say about Jacks. If you want a good old fashioned hamburger/hotdog and you don’t want to break the bank, this is where you want to go. I always eat here when I’m in the area and they never disappoint.

Bland burger, cheese was lame and there was an extra charge for lettuce and tomato. Guess what one piece of lettuce and one tom. 3 pickles that looked like they came from a can.

Home of the reliable, consistent burger. Same taste everytime. Need to not clean the milkshake machine too early at night time.Great shakes, lousy fries, but you always come back for the burger. Try the burger ordered Dry for a change. It's less greasy.

The woman taking orders was very rude Chloe got my order wrong and did or said nothing to remedy my order or even apologize. Loved going here for more years than she's been alive, but won't be back! Plus the cook or the girls WERE Not WEARING GLOVES! The bathroom was gross ,dirty and stinky!! Clean up your act Jack¡

Been driving past this place for years. Made the mistake of stopping and eating. Sopping wet greasy mess... Gross would be a understatement. The kids working there should look for another job. We are a one and done deal, was expecting more and left with a lot less. Sad people don't take pride in their work!

The best burger I've ever had. There are lots of great places but this place is hands down the best. Never frozen, ground fresh each day, 3 cuts of meat. They add nothing. The flavor is simply sublime.

It was a good burger. I hadn't had a burger in over a year. I was expecting more and my bread just disappeared before my burger did. I guess I was also expecting it to be more seasoned it was kinda like i was just eating cooked ground beef. Its been there for 40 plus years. I was expecting something different.
